Chelsea aims to return to winning ways in their trip to the King Power to play Leicester City in the Premier League.
Enzo Maresca’s side went into the international break winless in their last three domestic matches. Despite sitting in third, only three points separates them and 11th placed Brentford. A win will be vital for the Blues in their first game against a promoted side this season.
The Foxes have also been on a winless run of games, failing to find victory in their last four games. Steve Cooper’s last outing resulted in a 3-0 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Leicester City will be without Facundo Buonanotte due to suspension, and Abdul Fatawu’s recent ACL injury has ruled him out for the season. The Foxes are hopeful that Jamie Vardy, Jorden Ayew and Patson Daka will be fit enough to make the squad for the Lunchtime kickoff.
Blues fans will be disappointed to hear that captain, Reece James, will miss another Chelsea game because of a hamstring injury. Maresca stated that the injury was only minor however it is worrying to see Reece James pick up another hamstring injury only a couple of games after his recovery.
Jadon Sancho returns from his absence due to injury and will aim to make the squad against Leicester City.
No other major injury news to report on, with Maresca hoping to have everyone else in the squad at his disposal on Saturday.
A win for Chelsea would help the Blues to retain third place and potentially breathing space from the teams below them.
